Mission:
The mission of the Range Management Research Unit is to conduct site-based, collaborative research on ecosystem change, innovative livestock production systems, and ecological restoration alongside national and global research on land health monitoring and decision support tools in rangelands. Our unit co-produces knowledge with its stakeholders, including producers, land management agencies, and non-governmental organizations. Our products support management of hundreds of millions of acres of U.S. rangelands and are used globally. Collaborations with universities and international organizations augment and magnify the impact of our research to global rangelands and enable discoveries that benefit U.S. agriculture. We are a part of the USDA Long-Term Agroecosystem Research and Long-Term Ecological Research Networks and host the USDA Southwest Climate Hub.
